New Urgent Care Plans Announced

BULLHEAD CITY – Plans to open an urgent care clinic with extended and weekend hours have been announced by Western Arizona Regional Medical Center (WARMC). The new facility will be located at the intersection of Highway 95 and the Bullhead Parkway, in the Mohave Crossroads Shopping Center.
“This location, near the new Laughlin Bridge, will be convenient for residents of Bullhead City, Laughlin and Fort Mohave,” said Brent Parsons, chief executive officer for WARMC and Western Arizona Medical Group.
Northwest Urgent Care is affiliated with the WARMC health network and will be equipped to handle minor injuries or illnesses, providing quick and convenient care to patients without life-threatening emergencies.
An urgent care typically treats non-life threatening conditions, which may include common colds, flu, strep throat, and lacerations. An emergency room treats more serious conditions, which may include chest pain, abdominal pain, dehydration, and complex fractures.
Selecting the right facility can make a big difference in both the level of care available and the charge for services. “This approach makes care more affordable by avoiding the higher cost of a hospital emergency room, if patients only require non-emergent, urgent care services,” added Parsons.
The new location will have six private exam rooms, a procedure room, and will be fully equipped with on-site labs and X-ray. Approximately ten new jobs will be created to serve patients at the urgent care center, including a physician, family nurse practitioners, radiologic technologist and other patient care providers.
A construction contract has been awarded to a Mohave County contractor, and construction has begun. A grand opening is planned for fall of 2023. Located in the Mohave Crossroads Shopping Center, the address is 3669 Highway 95, Suite 500.
“We have been serving the greater Tri-state area for 40 years and this is another example of our commitment to expanding healthcare services to meet the needs of our growing community,” Parsons said.
