WARMC Asks Community for Masking Cooperation

BULLHEAD CITY (December 7, 2022) – Due to a sharp rise in cases of severe respiratory illness, Western Arizona Regional Medical Center is strongly encouraging the community to return to wearing face masks, particularly while visiting the hospital.
“WARMC is experiencing a significant increase in severe respiratory illnesses,” said Chief Nursing Officer Kirsten Ferren. “For this reason we are now encouraging all visitors to wear masks. If you do not have a mask with you, you will be offered a mask when you enter the hospital.”
Other hospitals in our area are also asking visitors to wear masks, Ferren said. WARMC leadership is also asking the community to be mindful of their own health conditions to prevent continued spread.
“If you are experiencing mild to moderate symptoms of respiratory illness, including coughing or fever, please stay at home. This will help protect our staff so that we can continue to care for you and your loved ones,” she said, adding “And, please do not hesitate to seek medical attention for more severe symptoms such as dizziness, drowsiness or confusion, shortness of breath, or uncontrolled nausea and vomiting”
Per the CDC guidelines, mask requirements are dependent on the community transmission level of COVID-19. At this time, the community transmission level is “High.”
