WARMC believes that visitors are an important part of our patients’ recovery process. Visitation can provide emotional support and a nice deviation for patients. With the increase in safety and security of our patients as well as new privacy standards (see HIPAA guidelines), WARMC will only provide the room number of a patient for visitation if the patient has not requested that such visits be denied. In addition, you must know the full name of the patient when asking for a room number.

At times, WARMC may limit the number of visitors allowed at one time in a room or may require that children under a certain age not visit the hospital.

These safety precautions are usually enforced during high census times and/or seasonal periods where additional precautions must be taken. If you have a cold, flu or other transmittable medical condition, please do not visit a patient.

In addition, it is strongly recommended that friends and families do not bring a patient food or beverage from outside the facility and/or any medications from home. Both could be detrimental to the patient’s progress during their stay with us.

General visiting hours are as follows:

ICU – The first fifteen minutes of each hour from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Example: 11 to 11:15 a.m., noon to 12:15 p.m., etc. ICU is located on the second floor.

Telemetry Unit – 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. – Located on the second floor.

Medical/Surgical Unit – 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Located on the 3rd floor.

OB Unit – 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Children under 12 are not allowed on the Unit. Located on the first floor.

Emergency Department – 24 hours per day, limit is one visitor at a time. Circumstances may prevent immediate visitation of a patient due to the nature of the Emergency Department setting.

Cafeteria Hours and Gift Shop Hours :

Monday through Sunday

Breakfast: 7:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

Lunch: 11:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Dinner: 4:45 p.m. to 6:15 p.m.

Vending machines are also located throughout the hospital.

Gift Shop is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Weekend hours vary.

Patient Safety

The safety of the patient and their visitors is of prime concern to the hospital. To ensure the safety of all, we ask that you adhere to our safety regulations.

WARMC is a non-smoking facility. Smoking is only permitted 120 feet from the building. We discourage patients who smoke from doing so during their stay as their can be health consequences associated with this action. Smoking is prohibited when oxygen is in use.

Side rails have been provided for your safety. If your side rails are up, please ask for assistance in lowering them or before attempting to get out of bed on your own. Patients who are able to ambulate, should consult with their nurse before leaving their room and not remove their hospital identification wristband for any reason. In addition, please ask for assistance when trying to get in and out of a wheelchair. We also ask that you do not use any appliances such as hot plates, coffee makers, curling irons etc. in your room or have friends or family bring you food from outside the hospital.

Patients should be aware that WARMC tests its alarm system from time to time. Fire drills or emergency signals should not be cause for distress. Should an emergency occur, our staff is fully trained and prepared to respond to the situation.

Finally, it is important that you leave all valuables at home if you are coming to the hospital as a patient. In addition, do not attempt to bring firearms or pocket knives, etc. to the hospital.

Cell phones are permitted in certain areas only. It’s best that you use the phone system provided by the hospital or use a cell phone outside the entrances of the hospital.

Western Arizona Regional Medical Center promotes a safe environment with 24-hour security on site.If you see any suspicious activity, please immediately report that information to a member of the nursing staff.A uniformed officer will be dispatched immediately.

All Western Arizona Regional Medical Center staff and volunteers are required to wear photo identification. You may refuse treatment from anyone who does not display a photo I.D. tag.

If you keep your car in the hospital's parking lot, please make sure it is locked and that all packages are in the trunk. We cannot be responsible for vandalism or theft of any kind.
